CLARIFICATION #1: ITB No: #13/2020/WSRN S-Barbados/GCF/CCCCC – Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 4.5 MW Solar photovoltaic generation and 2.0 MW MicroTurbine systems

Invitation for Bids: “Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 4.5 MW Solar photovoltaic generation and 2.0 MW MicroTurbine systems and other Components for specified Barbados Water Authority Pumping Stations”: Ref: ICB No. Contract # 13/2020/WSRN S-Barbados/GCF/CCCCC: Response #1 to Queries Raised We write with reference to paragraph 7.1 of the Instructions to Bidders (ITB) that addresses the subject of ‘Clarification of Bidding Documents’. In accordance with paragraph 7.1 of the ITB, a Bidder requiring any clarification of the Bidding Document shall contact the Centre (the Employer) in writing or raise enquiries during the pre-Bid meeting. The Centre / Employer shall: (i) respond in writing, provided the clarification is requested prior to the deadline for clarification and (ii) forward its response to all potential bidders who acquired the Bidding Document. The Centre / Employer is also required to include in the response a description of the inquiry without identifying its source. The queries received to date and Centre’s responses are as follows:
Query #1: Please advise who is responsible for the Geotechnical survey. Answer #1: This study is to be conducted by the selected Bidder(s). See Section VII, Employer’s Requirements: (i) Paragraph 103 Description of Works, page 112 and (ii) Paragraph 109, Information from Geotechnical Survey, page 115 of the Bidding Documents.
Query #2: Who is responsible for providing Autocad drawing for exact dimensions? Answer #2: Bidders are expected to prepare the drawings for the power systems as referenced at Section VII, Employer’s Requirements, Paragraph 103 Description of Works, page 112 of the Bidding Documents.
Query #3: Is any Wind study/code available? Answer #3: Bidders are expected to conduct their own due diligence and observe the applicable codes of Barbados for structural integrity; and design appropriately.
Query #4: Are you only accepting bids for both systems, or can an offer be submitted for one component? Answer #4: Bids are being invited for individual lots (contracts) or for any combination of lots (packages). Please refer to Instructions to Bidders: Clause 17:10 of the Bidding Documents.
